The Ogun State Police has given an update on the incident in which a mobile police officer from Lagos allegedly stabbed a soldier in Ikorodu.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Public Relations Officer for the Ogun Police Command, stated that the killing occurred in Odogunyan, a part of Lagos State, and not in Ogijo area as initially reported.
After discovering that their victim was military personnel, it is said that the police officers took cover at Ogijo Police Station.
Consequently, this led to mass shootings and fear among residents of the area who barely escaped injury or death.
Mr Oyeyemi noted that the state had no mobile base in Ogijo thus concluding that the involved policemen were based out of Lagos State.
