The Department of State Services (DSS) has recently uncovered a plot by certain individuals in various parts of the country to stage violent protests.
The aim of these protests is to discredit the Federal Government and security agencies regarding socio-economic issues.
“Intelligence reports have indicated that the plotters include certain politicians who are desperately mobilising unsuspecting student leaders, ethnic-based associations, youth and disgruntled groups for the planned action,” the statement said.
The DSS has identified the ring leaders of this plot and is closely monitoring them to prevent any actions that could lead to chaos in the country.
University Vice-Chancellors and Heads of Tertiary Institutions are advised to discourage their students from participating in any activities that could disrupt public peace.
Parents and guardians are also urged to advise their children to avoid engaging in behaviors that go against the law and order.
The DSS warns those involved in subverting national security to reconsider their actions, as legal action will be taken against them.
