Human Rights Organisation Speaks On Kanu Death In Detention

Kingsley Kanu, the brother of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu, has dismissed his purported suspension by the organisation as baseless.

On Monday, he affirmed that he remains a loyal member to the group despite IPOB’s National Coordinator for Germany, Collins Chinedu, signing a statement suspending him on Sunday night.

The statement accused Mr Kingsley of insubordination and forming a parallel leadership from in Germany with intent to instigate division.

Responding through social media accounts, Kingsley referred to an order from IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu from detention via lawyer Alloy Ejimakor last year to oust Chinedu and appoint Ogbenna Abraham as National Coordinator for Germany.

This was later confirmed on Twitter by Ejimakor who visited Kanu for visitation and released this message publicly.

Following this incident along with other power tussles amongst members of IPOB, Kingsley warned against defying Kanu’s authority by reminding followers that “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is and remains the highest authority”.

Meanwhile, Abraham echoed similar sentiments while advising members not be deceived by Chinedus unfound claims of power as he had long been removed by Kanu himself.

IPOB strives to be an independent state of Biafra and these issues only further blemish their dream of secession from Southeast & South-south Nigeria.
