The US military has recently shot down a series of objects known as UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) in American and Canadian airspace.
During a White House press briefing, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated “there is no indication of alien or extraterrestrial activity with these takedowns.”
US National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby was unable to definitively state what the objects were, yet noted that all three were uncrewed and seemed to be incapable of maneuvering.
The US also didn’t detect any communication signals from the UAPs, however, they did note that the high altitude of the objects could pose a threat to commercial aircraft.
In order to gather more information about these objects, the US is taking effort to recover debris from them – Some have been located in hard-to-reach places such as Lake Huron on the Canadian side.
In an effort to better detect UAPs, NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) has known set up enhanced radar detection systems for identifying them and increased their scrutiny of airspace.
There’s been speculation that this could be related to surveillance efforts but Kirby assured citizens “they don’t need to worry about aliens.”
