Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has refuted allegations that he worked against the emergence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President-elect.

The allegations were made by Cairo Ojuogbo, a former Director of Projects at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

In response to Ojuogbo’s claims, Omo-Agege dismissed him as an impetuous irritant and stated that he did not merit a response from him.

The conflict between Omo-Agege and Ojuogbo is said to have stemmed from the March 18 Governorship election in Delta State, which saw the APC lose out. Ojuogbo has also been accused of working for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, during the 2023 election.

The Deputy Senate President’s Chief Press Secretary, Sunny Areh, released a statement on Saturday addressing the allegations made by Ojuogbo.

“Cairo Ojuogbo is an impetuous irritant, a sinking man who does not deserve a response from the Senate’s Deputy President,” the statement read.

Areh also called on Nigerians to focus on the progress and development of the country and urged politicians to refrain from engaging in anti-party activities.
