A recent article from the blog Igbo Times Magazine claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had suspended all courts in Nigeria due to a fear of disqualification.
The article stated that Tinubu cited his presidential immunity and alleged evidence of widespread fraud in the judiciary as reasons for the suspension.
However, a fact-checking platform called Dubawa investigated the claim and found it to be false.
The platform noted that the source of the article was not trustworthy and that no credible media outlet had corroborated the claim.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) spokesperson also dismissed the report as “arrant nonsense.”
It is important to be cautious of false and misleading reports, especially regarding the upcoming Nigerian presidential elections.
