Mauricio Pochettino, the newly appointed manager of Chelsea, has made his first major decision by choosing not to make Joao Felix’s loan move to Stamford Bridge permanent.
Despite showing glimpses of his potential, the Portuguese star failed to impress Pochettino and will be returning to Atletico Madrid.
The decision was confirmed by Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo, who stated that the new Chelsea coach does not have plans for Felix.
The attacker scored four goals in 16 appearances for Chelsea, but his return to Spain may be due to the Blues already agreeing to sign Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig.
This is expected to be the first of many signings for Chelsea in what looks to be a busy transfer window.
