In a shocking development, the Nigerian Police have reacted to a disturbing comment made by an officer in Kaduna State, Hadaina Hussaini Dan-Taki. According to Naija News, Dan-Taki threatened to retaliate against Southerners in northern Nigeria after the recent killings of 16 travelers from the North in Uromi, Edo State.
Dan-Taki, in a Facebook post, vowed to take decisive action. “I swear to Almighty God, we must do something for you guys, have you forgotten all your brothers that are leaving here in the North make my word, after one week you shall see the result,” he said.
The post sparked an outcry, and following criticisms, Dan-Taki changed his first name and restricted access to his page, limiting the visibility of his posts. However, a screenshot of his controversial post was shared by a user on X, tagging ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police.
In response to the post, Adejobi acknowledged the situation and promised to take the necessary action. “Noted for necessary action. Thanks,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, has called for justice for the 16 hunters killed in Uromi. Jibrin emphasized that the people responsible for the killings must be held accountable.
Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State met with Senator Jibrin to discuss the tragic event. According to Jibrin, justice must be served for those affected.
