Politicians and chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were left disappointed after their visit to President Bola Tinubu’s residence in Bourdillon, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The President had relocated to his recently refurbished ‘White House’ on Queens Drive in Ikoyi, and security agencies turned away many politicians who attempted to see him there.

The President had cancelled appointments to attend to national demands and rest after his trip to France and the United Kingdom.

Even clergymen, reporters, and a man with a sick child were denied entrance.

The level of security was expected, but it left many disappointed and unable to present gifts or discuss political appointments.

A guest who came to present a gift to the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu said: “The level of security here is expected. This is the residence of the President and it has to be heavily fortified. We don’t know who is who. I only came to drop a gift for the First Lady, but I wasn’t allowed. Maybe I will have to take it back.”

Meanwhile, discussions are ongoing about the composition of the President’s cabinet, with attention given to bringing together factions in some states.

The source said: “There are plans to ensure that the appointment is used to bring together factions in some states and ensure peace in the party.”

Vice President Kashim Shettima assured that the Tinubu administration would address infrastructural deficits, specifically mentioning roads in Borno State.

The Shehu of Borno also requested support from the Tinubu administration to address bad roads and security challenges in the state and the country.
