Chelsea manager Graham Potter has given a clue regarding his lineup for the team’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund on a Tuesday night.
Potter hinted that Raheem Sterling could start for the Blues, stating that his substitution during their last game was to keep him fresh for the upcoming match.
Sterling’s experience in European competition may prove to be valuable if Chelsea are to progress into the quarter-finals.
The attacker has contributed to three goals in six appearances for the Blues in this season’s Champions League and has a total of 26 goals and 24 assists in 92 appearances in Europe’s elite club competition.
Despite recent reports linking him with Arsenal, Kelly Hogarth, who represents Sterling, released a statement affirming that he has no intention of leaving Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
Potter fielded an attack consisting of Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix, Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz in their previous game but failed to convert their chances.
With Sterling potentially starting on Tuesday night, Chelsea will hope to build upon their last victory over Leeds United and seal their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
