Bola Ahmed Tinubu was born on 29th March 1952 in Osun state, Nigeria. His mother, Abibatu Mogaji, was a trader and an Iyaloja of Lagos State until her death.

Tinubu’s formal education began at St John’s Primary School in Aroloya Lagos and continued at Children’s Home School in Ibadan, Southwest Nigeria.

Later he moved abroad to continue his studies and attended Richard J Daley College in Chicago, Illinois.
