President Bola Tinubu is working towards implementing a new minimum wage policy in Nigeria that could potentially double the current salaries of workers.

Ajuri Ngelale, the special adviser on media and publicity to President Tinubu, revealed this information in a recent interview.

The government is committed to alleviating economic challenges faced by the Nigerian populace, and one of the measures being taken is the revision of the minimum wage.

While Ngelale refrained from preempting the work of the minimum wage committee, he stated that President Tinubu wants nothing less than a doubling of the current minimum wage.

This indicates a significant increase in income for workers if the proposed policy is successfully implemented.

The administration has also been proactive in providing financial support to the states. Since the start of President Tinubu’s tenure, governors across the federation have received a substantial sum of N300 billion to help manage economic challenges.
