Omoyele Sowore, a prominent Nigerian activist and former presidential candidate, criticized President Buhari’s apology to Nigerians on Friday, stating that Buhari’s policies and plans not only hurt Nigeria but dehumanized its citizens.
Buhari asked Nigerians who felt hurt by his actions to forgive him during the Sallah homage by residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. He described himself as lucky to have led Nigeria in various capacities.
In a post on Twitter, Sowore said that Buhari’s administration had denied Nigerians a decent life and had deprived children, women, men, and young people of an opportunity to live and thrive.
He added that Buhari destroyed businesses, took innocent lives, destroyed the education sector, and deprived the sick and infirm of an opportunity to be nursed to health.
Sowore also accused Buhari of encouraging violence where he couldn’t carry it out himself and creating division through religious bigotry and ethnicity.
He claimed that Buhari’s family members, cronies, and members of his cabal had perpetrated untold corruption and borrowed Nigeria back to the Stone Age.
The presidential candidate warned that the souls, lives, and opportunities that Buhari ruined and crushed would continue to haunt him until the end of time.
