The Chairman of the National Population Commission, Nasir Kwarra, announced on Thursday that President Bola Tinubu will personally announce new dates for the national population and housing census.

The census, which was originally scheduled for April, was postponed.

Kwarra and his delegation briefed the President at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, where they submitted their report.

The President will study the report and make an informed decision on when to schedule the nationwide exercise.

The Commission will also request additional financial provisions, as the longer the census is delayed, the more its financial requirements expand.

President Tinubu has expressed his support for the Commission and the importance of data for national planning and development.
