Premier League clubs Arsenal and Newcastle United appear to be monitoring the contract situation of Barcelona’s defensive sensation.
The 19-year-old has been a part of Xavi Hernandez’s Barcelona revolution, having made 19 appearances this season and contributing three assists.
However, due to Barcelona’s financial woes, Arsenal and Newcastle may be in talks to sign Alejandro Balde should the Catalan club fail to register his new contract.
For Arsenal, Oleksandr Zinchenko has been their first-choice left back and Kieran Tierney is a dependable full-back; it remains to be seen how Balde would fit in at the Emirates Stadium.
On the other hand, Newcastle could do with signing a new left-back as current player Matt Targett has failed to impress.
Despite Ferland Mendy being a viable target, Balde appears to have emerged on the Magpies’ radar too.
