Several notable politicians have turned down ministerial positions under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Among them is Chief Olabode George, the former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who stated that he is too old to seek such an appointment at this stage of his life.
However, he expressed willingness to assist in nominating competent candidates if approached.
Another politician who rejected a ministerial role is Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna state.
El-Rufai, who previously served as the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stated that he would not accept the FCT ministerial position again and recommended younger individuals for the role.
Additionally, former Ekiti state governor Ayodele Fayose stated that he would reject any ministerial appointment offered by Tinubu.
