The Lagos State Government has issued a notice to Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, demanding that she pay a sum of N18,640,092.00 as personal income tax within seven days or face imprisonment.
The government claims that the actress owes N7,376,000.00 in taxes for the year 2022 and N11,264,092 in back taxes for the 2021 tax year.
In response, Iyabo Ojo took to her Instagram page to criticize the government’s method of determining her tax bill, which she described as exorbitant.
She also questioned how the government comes up with such outrageous bills and expressed frustration with the lack of support she has received from the government.
Despite the threat of imprisonment, the actress remains defiant and has vowed to fight the tax bill.
