Football.london reports that Arsenal is interested in signing Chelsea star Kai Havertz in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Gunners are looking to strengthen their squad to compete in both the Premier League and Champions League.
Havertz, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020 for a fee of around £70million, played a key role in helping Chelsea win the Champions League in his debut season.
However, his price tag could be an issue for Arsenal, who are hoping to negotiate a lower fee.
If Havertz signs for the Gunners, he will have the option to choose his preferred No.29 shirt, which is currently vacant in Arteta’s squad.
Mateo Guendouzi was the last player to wear the No.29, but he left Arsenal at the start of last season.
Havertz has worn the same shirt number throughout his senior club career, while for Germany, he has worn various numbers, including No.7, No.10, No.18, No.20, No.21, and No.23.
