Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, is a prominent figure in Lagos state as the head of the National Union of Road Transport Workers. Born in Oshodi, Lagos, Nigeria on March 14, 1975, MC Oluomo comes from Kwara State. He had a primary level of education but dropped out of school after his father’s death.
At the age of 13, he ran away from home and started working as a bus driver. MC Oluomo’s educational background includes attending Afolabi Primary School in Oshodi and Olu Efon Primary School in Abeokuta for his elementary education. However, he eventually dropped out of school.
A Look into His Career
MC Oluomo’s career began as a bus conductor and driver before joining the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
He quickly rose through the ranks, eventually becoming the treasurer of the Oshodi branch and later the chairman. When the chairman of the Lagos branch became the national vice president of the union, Oluomo was part of the caretaker committee that took over the affairs of NURTW, Lagos.
Despite facing opposition, he eventually became the chairman of the union, gaining significant influence. Oluomo used this influence to align himself with prominent political figures, particularly former Lagos state governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
However, he has also faced accusations of being involved in election thuggery and has been the target of violence from rival groups. In 2022, the national body of NURTW dissolved the administrative council of the Lagos chapter and accused Oluomo of misconduct.
In response, Oluomo announced the withdrawal of the state chapter from the national body and received support from the state government, which imposed a ban on NURTW activities. The government then established the Lagos Parks and Garages Management Committee and appointed Oluomo as its chairman.

However, he passed away when MC Oluomo was young. MC Oluomo’s mother, Alhaja Abebi Zinat Omotonwo, was from Abeokuta and was one of his father’s wives. She passed away in 2020 at the age of 87.
In honor of her son, the residents of Agedegbe conferred the title “Oluomo,” meaning “a One of a Kind.” MC Oluomo also had an elder sister named Kibitiu Akinsanya, who unfortunately passed away in October of the previous year.
MC Oluomo is currently married to three women: Alhaja Madinat Adunni Akinsanya, Temitope Adunni Akinsanya, and Aisha Ajoke Akinsanya.
However, his marriage to Yoruba actress Tayo Odueke, also known as Sikiratu Sindodo, was annulled. Despite their wealth and lavish lifestyle, they encountered difficulties in their relationship and decided to separate.
