Oba AbdulFatai Aromire Oyegbemi, the Ojora of Ijora and Iganmu Kingdom, has removed six of his palace chiefs from office after they attended a Labour Party rally in Apapa without his approval, NaijNaira can report.
According to a statement shared by the Palace, the chiefs were accused of breaking royal protocol and impersonating the monarch during the political event.
Those affected include Chief Lateef Ojora, Chief Saliu Biliamin, Chief Taiwo Hassan, Chief Idris Ojora, Chief Hakeem Oseni, and Chief Sule Balogun.
Oba Oyegbemi described their conduct as a serious breach of palace decorum and authority.
“They had no permission to attend, nor did they represent me,” the monarch stated during a palace council meeting.
He emphasized that all chiefs are expected to act strictly under his direction and uphold the values of the kingdom.
In response to the incident, the monarch summoned the Ojora Council, including the Bales and Balogun, to address the fallout.
“Their decision to act independently undermines our tradition,” Oba Oyegbemi said firmly.
He added that his decision to strip the six of their titles was necessary to preserve unity and order within the palace system.
During the meeting, the monarch praised the current administration’s development efforts in Ojora land.
He reaffirmed his intention to continue aligning the palace with policies that benefit the people and maintain cultural integrity.
