Kylian Mbappe, the French superstar, is set to become the most sought-after free agent in Europe this summer after confirming his intention not to sign a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). With his contract expiring, top clubs across Europe are scrambling to secure the services of one of the game’s elite players. As Mbappe prepares for Euro 2024, where he aims to lead France to glory, the question remains: which club will he join next season?

Real Madrid

The most likely destination for Mbappe is Real Madrid. The Spanish giants have been in a tug-of-war with PSG for several years, and it seems that this summer could finally see Mbappe’s dream move come to fruition. With no transfer fee involved, Real Madrid is reportedly willing to make Mbappe their highest earner, surpassing the likes of Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior. Additionally, they are prepared to offer a substantial signing-on fee and negotiate the percentage rights Mbappe would retain as part of the deal. Playing alongside Vinicius and Rodrygo, supported by Bellingham, Mbappe would have a real opportunity to compete for the coveted Champions League trophy.

Arsenal

Mbappe’s decision to leave PSG has sparked speculation about a potential move to Arsenal. The forward’s willingness to potentially lower his financial demands could open up more options for him, including a move to the Emirates. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed interest in bringing Mbappe to the club, but doubts remain about whether Arsenal would break their financial strategy to secure such a high-profile signing. Nonetheless, a move to Arsenal would see Mbappe follow in the footsteps of club legend Thierry Henry.

Liverpool

With Jurgen Klopp’s tenure at Liverpool coming to an end, signing Mbappe would be a statement move for the club as they enter a new era. Liverpool had reportedly shown interest in Mbappe back in 2017 when he was at Monaco. If they were to reignite their pursuit, Mbappe would likely want to know who would be succeeding Klopp as manager. Additionally, there may need to be some flexibility in the club’s financial structure. Mbappe’s arrival would be a perfect complement to or replacement for Mohamed Salah, should his future at the club remain uncertain.

Manchester City

The idea of Manchester City boasting a forward line consisting of Erling Haaland and Mbappe is enough to send shivers down the spines of their rivals. While City is under investigation for alleged Financial Fair Play (FFP) breaches, they still have the financial power to make Mbappe the highest-paid player in the Premier League. However, the FFP investigation may raise eyebrows and potentially impact their pursuit of the French star. Nevertheless, the combination of Haaland and Mbappe in City’s attack would undoubtedly elevate them to a new level of dominance in the Premier League.
