During his visit to Rivers State, President-elect Ahmed Bola Tinubu disappointed Governor Nyesom Wike by refusing to refund the cost of flyovers constructed on federal government roads.
While commissioning the 12th flyover constructed by Wike, Tinubu stated that he owed the governor nothing and that the roads were being used by Rivers people.
Wike had appealed to Tinubu to refund the cost of the projects done on federal government roads, and had even prepared a letter requesting the refund for incoming governor Siminialaye Fubara to sign on assumption of office.
However, Tinubu refused to comply with Wike’s demands, stating that he would need to be lobbied.
He said, “the 12 flyovers and the demands you made for refund l, I owe you nothing, it’s your road.
“You can’t chuckle at me and make a demand. You are the one using the road. I commend your effort. You have to lobby me.”
