Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!
The 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand is now officially 94 days away, and out of the 32 teams that will be participating in this year’s historic and ground-breaking global mundial some teams won’t have some of their stars available while some will do.
The previous editions of the Women’s World Cup featured 12 and 24 nations respectively, but this year’s tournament will feature 32 teams having seen 172 nations battled it out in securing a spot at the showpiece during the qualifying rounds.
In this year’s showpiece 64 games will be played, 12 more games than what the fans witnessed at France in 2019 as we look forward to the first kickoff at the Auckland Eden Park come July 20, 2023.
So as we anticipate this year’s historic and ground-breaking showpiece slated for July 20, 2023 to August 20, 2023, the question is who are those superstars that won’t be part of this year’s tournament due to injury?
Mallory Swanson – (United States)
The 24-year-old who has been in great form for the national team prior to her injury, suffered a torn patella-tendon in her left-knee during USA’s win over Ireland in their preparatory match for the World Cup.
With the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand now 94 days away, Swanson being one of the USWNT stars she won’t be part of the showpiece when her team files out from the dressing room come July.
Janine Beckie – (Canada)
The sad news means Beckie will be ruled out of the quadrennial tournament in Australia and New Zealand, after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament to her right knee.
Beckie who earned her 101 caps in Canada’s 3-0 loss to Japan during the SheBelieves Cup finale last month, has scored 36 goals and 17 assists for the national team since making her doubt in 2014 at the age of 20.
Olivia Chance – (New Zealand)
The Celtic playmaker went down clutching her left-knee after her leg was caught in an awkward position against Iceland, which could cost her the opportunity to feature at the FIFA Women’s World Cup on home-ground.
While Chance has established herself as one of the Ferns key player during Klimkova’s tenure, the fans will hope to see their star-player back in time ahead of their first game.
Beth Mead – (England)
Mead while speaking to the media after she sustained a season threatening anterior cruciate ligament injury, says she will take the positives from her long-injury layoff as she continues to work her way back to full-fitness.
While it is a known fact that the Arsenal star won’t be part of the Lionesses squad going into the showpiece come July, it must be said that she was very instrumental to the team’s triumph at the Euro 2022 where he won England’s Player of the Tournament.
Vivianne Miedema – (Netherlands)
Miedema tore her ACL last year and has since been confirmed as one of the superstars that will miss the global showpiece in 94-days time.
The Netherlands with Miedema available for the World Cup would have been listed as one of the tournament favorite, however, with the Arsenal’s forward out winning the trophy won’t come easy for the Orange feminine.
Alexia Putellas – (Spain)
Two-time Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas is another marque player that will miss this year’s historic and ground-breaking global showpiece, due to the devastating injury she picked up on the eve of Euro 2022.
Putellas’ injury won’t only ruled her out of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, but also the entirety of the 2022-23 Liga F Women in Spain.
While there’s no specific date for the return of Putellas ahead of the mundial, Barcelona fans can only hope their brilliant captain returns in good shape ahead of next season’s Liga F Women in Spain.
