Tottenham have identified Montpellier forward Elye Wahi as a potential summer signing to possibly replace Harry Kane, according to reports.
At just 20 years old, Wahi has scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists for Montpellier in all competitions this season, grabbing the attention of some of Europe’s top clubs.
As Tottenham and Arsenal weigh up bids for him, Borussia Dortmund are said to be interested too but unlikely to land him if there is Premier League interest.
Transfermarkt value him at £16 million and with Wahi reportedly changing agents recently, it appears he is open to a move away from Montpellier in order to further his development.
If Spurs are serious about replacing Kane in the long term then they could do significantly worse than snapping up the talented young Frenchman who has already established himself as an important member of the Montpellier side after coming through their youth system.
Not only this but his stats at youth international level for France show he can certainly finish chances when presented with them as evidenced by his goal last year for their under-21 team.
Whether or not Tottenham will manage to sign him ahead of Arsenal remains unclear however given their potential advantage in securing the Premier League title should they hold off Man City other frontrunners this season
