During a mission to evacuate Turkish citizens from Sudan, a Turkish military plane was fired upon by small arms fire, according to a statement from the Turkish National Defense Ministry.
The plane, a Turkish C-130, was headed to Wadi Seidna Air Base to evacuate citizens in Khartoum when the incident occurred.
Fortunately, the plane landed safely and no injuries were reported.
The Sudanese army accused the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces of shooting at the plane, but the RSF denied the accusation and stated that they had remained committed to the humanitarian truce.
Despite the incident, the Turkish ministry reported that the first group of citizens was safely evacuated by planes belonging to the Turkish Armed Forces.
