A meeting between President Bola Tinubu and the G-5 governors group, consisting of five former PDP governors, is currently taking place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The group includes Okezie Ikpeazu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Samuel Ortom, Seyi Makinde, and Nyesom Wike.
However, only Makinde is still serving as a governor.
The G-5 governors formed an alliance after Atiku Abubakar won the PDP presidential primary election in May 2022.

They demanded that the PDP National Chairman step down for a Southern replacement as a precondition to support the party’s presidential candidate in the February 25 poll, but their demands were not met.
