Emmanuel Ogidi, former vice national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-South region, has expressed his disappointment with the appointment of former Governor Nyesom Wike’s allies as minority leaders in the National Assembly (NASS).
Ogidi believes that Wike has betrayed the party and is assisting the All Progressives Congress (APC) in dividing the PDP.
In an interview, Ogidi stated that Wike’s actions are contributing to the APC’s efforts to weaken the PDP.
However, he remains confident that the PDP cannot be destroyed and that Wike will face consequences for his actions.
He also acknowledged that the PDP has weaknesses and needs to learn how to effectively oppose the ruling party.
Ogidi emphasized the importance of the minority leader position, as it represents not only the PDP but also other parties.
He urged the minority leaders to uphold the interests of the party and the Nigerian people, as they are being closely watched.
Ogidi also criticized the executive branch for consistently weakening the power of political parties.
