Dr. Sam Amadi, the Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, has criticized Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State for declaring a public holiday for President-elect Bola Tinubu’s visit to the state.
Amadi stated that Wike’s decision to declare a public holiday for Tinubu’s visit was inappropriate as the President-elect is not an official position.
Tinubu’s visit is not an official one, and Wike’s actions degrade statecraft with pedestrian actions, according to Amadi.
Tinubu is expected to commission several projects during his visit, including a flyover and a Magistrate Court complex.
