As the January transfer window approaches its close, Arsenal has cemented its plans to secure a new forward.

Mikel Arteta’s team faces a heavy schedule ahead, remaining active in crucial competitions like the Carabao Cup and the UEFA Champions League.

Injuries to key players like Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka have forced Arteta to seek solutions to bolster his attacking options.

Among the names linked with a move to Arsenal are Benjamin Sesko and Victor Osimhen.

However, the latest updates reveal an intensified interest in Matheus Cunha.

With a market value estimated at around £60 million, Cunha, who currently plays for Wolverhampton Wanderers, has emerged as an attractive option for the Gunners and Nottingham Forest.

The 25-year-old has had a strong season despite Wolves’ struggles, and while the club has tried to extend his contract, it now seems likely that he will leave either in the summer or during the January window.

Wolves manager Vitor Pereira recently addressed speculation about Cunha’s future, especially following an incident where the player failed to acknowledge the traveling fans after a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea.

Pereira confirmed that Cunha remains dedicated to the team and not seeking a transfer. “He’s my player and he’s not for sale. He’s committed to us,” he stated.

In addition to Arsenal and Forest, Tottenham and Chelsea are also said to be monitoring Cunha’s situation.

For now, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest appear to be the frontrunners for his signature.
