Victor Osimhen marked his first start of the season with a goal in Galatasaray’s 4-0 thrashing of Kayserispor on Sunday night – www.naijnaira.com reports.
Soccernet.ng noted that the Nigerian forward found the net in the 86th minute, finishing off Nicolò Zaniolo’s clever pass to seal a comfortable victory.
Before Osimhen’s strike, Turkish defender Evren Eren Elmalı had already scored twice, while Leroy Sané added a stoppage-time fourth to complete the rout.
It was an important night for Osimhen, who finally started after missing the opener and coming off the bench in the second league match.
The 26-year-old joined Galatasaray permanently this summer following a record-breaking transfer from Napoli, after an earlier loan spell where he bagged 37 goals and 8 assists.
After the final whistle, Leroy Sané paid tribute to his teammate, saying: “Victor also scored his first goal and is a very good player.”
The German winger added, “We’re gaining momentum. We have very good strikers, and both are hungry to score. That’s great for the team.”
With Osimhen and Mauro Icardi leading the line, Galatasaray’s attack looks prepared to challenge both domestically and in the Champions League.
