Five members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State running for the Senate and House of Representatives in upcoming elections have spoken out against their expulsion from the party.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the main opposition party removed them on account of alleged anti-party activities.
But the candidates have argued that according to Electoral Act 2022, no political party is permitted to change or substitute its candidates unless there is a case of death or withdrawal.
Further protesting their dismissal, they declared that any lawlessness on behalf of Senator Iyorchia Ayu and NWC will inevitably be unsuccessful while they are propelled to work harder to ensure victory in the polls.
