Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear that he feels Real Madrid legends like Karim Benzema and Luka Modric deserve to stay in Madrid and retire at the Bernabeu.

This statement appears to give a reality check to Cristiano Ronaldo, who left Manchester United for Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr last year.

Despite Ronaldo’s claims that football was his chief motivator in his move to Saudi, the potential riches on offer could not have been ignored.

However, Al-Nassr’s current manager Rudi Garcia has suggested that Ronaldo will likely not remain in Saudi beyond his current contract and return to Europe before retirement.

The Portuguese icon also failed to find the net during his first two appearances with Al-Nassr, though he was praised by Garcia for dispersing defenders.

Finally, Carlo Ancelotti’s view of Madrid legacies retiring at the Bernabeu may indicate a return for Ronaldo sooner than expected.
