The All Progressives Congress (APC) has put forward a demand for the arrest of opposition leader, Atiku Abubakar.

The ruling party has given the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) and Conduct of Conduct Bureau (CCB) a 72-hour ultimatum to apprehend Atiku in connection with money laundering, breach of Code of Conduct Act and more.

Festus Keyamo, senior advocate of Nigeria and minister of state for Labour & Employment raised the accusations based on claims by Michael Achimugu, who claimed to be a former aide to the PDP candidate.

Keyamo stated that his evidence provided substantial proof that Atiku conspired with his then boss Olusegun Obasanjo in order to misuse funds through what was dubbed “Special Purpose Vehicles”.

The APC Presidential Campaign Council has called for Atiku’s withdrawal from the race based on alleged violations made under sections 5, 10, 13 & 17 of the Code of Conduct Bureau & Tribunal Act as well as section 18 (2) Money Laundering law and Section 311 Penal Codes Law.

This petition also urges authorities to reclaim all funds stolen by anyone from Marine Float account or any such similar accounts.

If apprehended, Atiku must return all money to federal government for investigation and prosecution purposes accordingly.
