Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign Council spokesperson, Daniel Bwala, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to release his telephone conversation with the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This request comes after President Buhari’s statement, as conveyed by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, that he is ready to welcome Tinubu to the State House in Abuja on May 29, when he would have completed an eight-year spell in government.

The statement was made during a phone call between both leaders, which was made to mark the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Bwala, however, has questioned the authenticity of the phone call, calling on President Buhari to release the audio conversation as proof that the call actually took place.

He further stated that the Nigerian constitution does not allow President Buhari to welcome Tinubu to the State House after the swearing-in at Eagle Square, as the President would be heading to the airport and Tinubu would be heading to his new house.

The spokesperson’s statement has raised concerns among Nigerians, who are now questioning the integrity of the phone call between both leaders.

Many have taken to social media to express their concerns, calling for transparency and accountability in the upcoming elections.

This development has also raised questions about the relationship between both leaders, as Tinubu is widely considered to be one of the most influential politicians in Nigeria and is expected to play a significant role in the upcoming presidential elections.

It is unclear whether President Buhari will respond to the request to release the audio conversation.
