Bruce Willis is no longer living in the family home after his wife Emma Heming made what she called the “hardest decision” of her life — www.naijnaira.com reports.

According to The Independent, the 70-year-old actor is now in a one-storey residence with a professional care team as his dementia symptoms become more demanding.

Willis was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in February 2023, a condition that affects language and behavior and steadily worsens over time.

Emma, 47, explained that the change was made for their two young daughters, Mabel and Evelyn, so their daily lives would not have to revolve around the adjustments required for his care.

“Bruce would want that for our daughters,” she told ABC’s Diane Sawyer in an emotional interview, adding that he always prioritized their needs above his own.

The family visits him often for meals, and Emma said they still share moments of connection through movies, time outdoors, and simply being together.

She described the new home as “filled with love, and warmth, and laughter,” crediting Willis’s friends for continuing to bring joy into his life.

Despite his diagnosis, she confirmed Willis remains physically strong, saying: “Bruce is still very mobile. Bruce is in really great health overall. It’s just his brain that is failing him.”

Emma also revealed that his speech is “going,” but the family has adapted by finding new ways to communicate with him.

She has detailed the emotional journey of caregiving in her new book, The Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope, and Yourself on the Caregiving Path.

Willis continues to maintain close bonds with his ex-wife Demi Moore and their daughters, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, who all remain deeply involved in his life.

Rumer, 37, previously shared on Father’s Day that she misses the conversations she once had with him, writing: “I feel a deep ache in my chest to talk to you and tell you everything I’m doing.”

The family has openly described dementia as a “cruel disease” that has taken away cherished memories, but they remain committed to surrounding the actor with love and presence.
