Chelsea have been keeping tabs on Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic with a view to making a summer transfer.
With the Italian club’s financial difficulties, it could well be an opportune time for the Blues to gain the signatures of the Serbian player.
According to Football FanCast transfer insider Pete O’Rourke, any exit from Turin may be imminent based on Juventus’ issues.
Since his £66.6m move from Fiorentina in January 2022, Vlahovic has not hit the heights he achieved previously with La Viola but he is still highly sought after and Serbian FA president Nenad Bjekovic once described him as being “better and more complete than Erling Haaland”.
In this season’s Serie A, Vlahovic has scored eight times from 12 league outings and commands a salary of £215k-per-week.
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is no stranger to splashing out in terms of transfers and although CIES Football Observatory value the 23-year-old at up to £71m, should negotiations prove fruitful given Juve’s need for funds, then it could be a wise move for Chelsea as Vlahovic possesses many similar traits as Romelu Lukaku who failed miserably since his return from Inter Milan.
As such, if Chelsea manage to land Vlahovic this summer it could pave their way toward glory under Graham Potter.
