Chelsea moved closer to the Conference League last-16 with a 2-0 win over Heidenheim, extending their perfect run in the competition.

Christopher Nkunku scored the opener in the 50th minute, tapping in Jadon Sancho’s cross after a strong challenge from Axel Disasi in midfield.

Mykhailo Mudryk sealed the win late, finishing a low cross from Sancho with a superb strike into the top corner.

Heidenheim, despite their lower status, proved a strong challenge for Chelsea.

Under manager Frank Schmidt, they fought hard to break down the visitors.

Chelsea made 10 changes from their recent Premier League win, giving 18-year-old Marc Guiu a start.

Heidenheim had several near chances, including Leo Scienza’s shot that Jorgensen saved, and a curling effort that narrowly missed.

Wanner also went close in the 69th minute, but Jorgensen’s excellent stop kept Chelsea in front.

The hosts were denied an equalizer when Maximilian Breunig’s header was ruled offside.

Chelsea’s defense stood firm, and with four minutes remaining, Mudryk’s strike into the top corner from Sancho’s low cross wrapped up the win.

The result leaves Chelsea just one victory away from securing a spot in the knockout stages of the competition.
