Romelu Lukaku, on loan from Chelsea, showcased his prowess by scoring his 18th goal of the season in Roma’s 4-0 victory over Brighton.

In a post-match interview, Lukaku hinted at his future plans, suggesting that he is enjoying his time at Roma under the guidance of coach Daniele De Rossi.

Lukaku expressed his satisfaction with the freedom given to him by De Rossi, stating, “The coach gives me more freedom in midfield and to push up. I have to attack the space, whereas before I was asked to hold the ball up.”

The Belgian striker further mentioned that he is settling well into his role as the lone center-forward in Italy and hopes to continue improving with the team in Serie A and the Europa League.

Lukaku also spoke highly of De Rossi’s approach, emphasizing the importance of setting new objectives every day and giving one’s best to achieve them.

He acknowledged the fans’ love for the team and expressed gratitude towards both Mourinho and De Rossi for their support and guidance.

While Lukaku’s future remains uncertain, with his contract at Chelsea expiring in 2026, he hinted at the possibility of a permanent move to Roma.

Referring to his controversial interview with Sky Italia, where he expressed a desire to return to Inter, Lukaku stated, “I don’t want to cause controversy in England, I have to be intelligent about this!”

It is expected that Chelsea will lower their asking price to facilitate Lukaku’s departure.

Only time will tell where his future lies, but for now, Lukaku is focused on making a significant impact for Roma in both domestic and European competitions.
