10. Timo Werner {20/21 RB Leipzig} – £47.70m
Werner agreed to sign for Chelsea in June 2020 and joined the club in July penning a five-year contract with the club. In his first season with the West Londoners, he won the UEFA Champions League after Chelsea defeated rivals Manchester City 1-0 courtesy of a Havertz goal.
He didn’t have the best of times at Chelsea during his two-year spell scoring just 12 goals across all competitions in his first season and just 11 goals in his second season which resulted in him returning to his old club Leipzig in August of 2022.
9. Raheem Sterling {22/23 Manchester City} – £50.58m
In July 2022, Sterling signed for Chelsea on a five-year contract for a fee of £50.58 million. On 6 August, he made his club debut in a 1–0 away win against Everton in the Premier League. On Saturday 27 August, Sterling scored his first goals for the club, a brace, in a 2-1 win over Leicester City in the Premier League.

Jorginho arrived at Chelsea from Napoli in 2018 and won the UEFA Europa League a year later. He then won the UEFA Champions League in 2021 and was named UEFA Men’s Player Of The Year and came third in Ballon D’or.
7. Fernando Torres {10/11 Liverpool FC} – £52.65m
Torres joined Chelsea in January 2011 for a then British record transfer fee of £52.65 million, which made him the most expensive Spanish player in history. At Chelsea, Torres won the FA Cup, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League with Chelsea in his four-year spell, though his goalscoring rate and performances declined drastically.

In January 2019, Pulisic joined Chelsea in a transfer worth £57.6 million, making him the most expensive North American player of all time, and began playing for the club in the 2019–20 season.
At 21 years old he became the youngest Chelsea player to score a hat-trick. During the 2020–21 UEFA Champions League, Pulisic became the youngest Chelsea player and the first American to score in the semi-finals. He then became the first American to play in a UEFA Champions League Final which his side (Chelsea) won defeating Manchester City 1-0 in the match.

In August 2022, Cucurella joined Chelsea from Brighton on a six-year contract. The fee was reported to be worth an initial £58.77 million, potentially rising to £62 million in add-ons, which was a record fee received by Brighton. He made his debut as a substitute in a 1–0 away win against Everton at Goodison Park.
4. Álvaro Morata {17/18 Real Madrid} – £59.40m
In July 2017, Chelsea announced that they had agreed terms with Real Madrid for the transfer of Morata, for a reported club-record fee of around £59.40 million. On 21 July, he successfully passed his medical and officially became a Chelsea player. With Chelsea, he scored 24 goals across all competitions and won the FA cup in 2018 and the Europa League in 2019.
3. Kepa Arrizabalaga {18/19 Athletic Bilbao} – £72.00m
Kepa joined Chelsea in a transfer worth £72 million, a record fee for a goalkeeper. The Spaniard won the UEFA Europa League, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup with Chelsea. He was the hero in Chelsea’s 2021 UEFA Super Cup triumph coming on for Mendy in the penalty shootout and saving Villareal’s Raul Albiol’s decisive penalty kick in the shootout to clinch the title.

In September 2020, Havertz penned a five-year contract with Chelsea for a transfer fee reported to be worth £72 million making him Chelsea’s second-most expensive signing after Kepa Arrizabalaga.
He scored the only goal of the game in the 2021 UEFA Champions League Final. It was his first-ever goal in the UEFA Champions League as Chelsea beat Manchester City to win the competition for the second time in the club’s history.
