Namadi Sambo, former Vice President of Nigeria, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and joined the All Progressives Congress, APC.

According to BusinessDay, the news was shared on Wednesday by APC member Imran Muhammad in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Sources suggest Sambo’s decision to leave the PDP may be connected to ongoing issues within the party.

Sambo, who served as Vice President under former President Goodluck Jonathan from 2010 to 2015, has now aligned with the APC.

He was formally welcomed by Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, during a reception held at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna.

“Vice President Namadi Sambo is now a member of our great party,” Imran Muhammad shared on X.

Sambo’s decision is seen as a boost for the APC’s influence in Kaduna State.

Many party supporters have welcomed the move, describing it as a positive step for the party in the region.

Observers believe Sambo’s switch may impact future political arrangements within the state.

His move from PDP to APC comes as more political figures continue to shift party affiliations across Nigeria.
