Five Benue lawmakers injured in Gov. Ortom’s convoy crash

On Friday morning, January 20th, tragedy struck as Governor Samuel Ortom’s convoy was unfortunately involved in a devastating accident.

The accident occurred as the convoy was en route to a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship campaign rally in Utokon community, Ado LGA of the state.

According to Punch, the driver of a branded bus carrying PDP supporters along with the convoy lost control and crashed into three vehicles; a Jeep, a security vehicle, and another bus.

While no fatalities were reported, some people were injured- three lawmakers of the Benue State House of Assembly in particular.

The injured legislators were taken to receive medical attention and are now said to be in “stable condition”.

Also among those in the motorcade were Benue’s Deputy Governor Engr Benson Abounu; Senator Abba Moro; House of Representatives members; and other top government officials from Benue.
