Gabriel Jesus has moved a step closer to being back in first-team action with Arsenal by taking a trip out onto the pitch, almost two months after his knee injury surgery.
The Brazilian shared an encouraging Instagram post, captioned “after eight weeks”, alongside a praying-hands emoji which seemed to suggest that he is getting closer and closer to returning.
While originally, it was thought that Jesus would have missed three months of football due to the injury, Mikel Arteta suggested that the attacker might not be back as soon as previously expected and that the process had to be respected.
Kayaking with Khabib Nurmagomedov last month, Jesus said he’d be back in four or five weeks – however, Arteta commented last week that this timeframe wasn’t likely and labelling Jesus as someone who pushes himself too hard.
