Dino Melaye has fired new shots at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, alleging it’s now under the direct influence of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC – www.naijnaira.com reports.
He stated during an appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television that PDP has lost its identity and functions more like a subsidiary of APC.
According to Melaye, “PDP has been purchased by the APC, PDP is a parastatal of APC, and PDP is a department of APC.”
He claimed the Presidential Villa now decides when PDP’s key organs, like the National Executive Committee and National Working Committee, should hold meetings.
Melaye expressed disappointment in the conduct of PDP governors, accusing them of failing to challenge federal policies or provide any meaningful opposition.
He questioned their loyalty and asked why they weren’t leveraging their political influence to check APC’s power.
The former lawmaker mentioned a recent interview on Arise TV with Babangida Aliyu, who suggested that Nigerians should tolerate Bola Tinubu’s administration just like they did with Buhari’s.
“That’s not the kind of position you expect from someone who claims to be in the opposition,” Melaye said.
He closed by warning that Nigeria is facing serious political instability under the current alignment of powers.
