Husband Arraigned for Marrying A Second Wife
Police have arraigned Edmund Uzoma before the Lagos State Magistrate’s Court for reportedly breaking the law by taking a second wife.
Uzoma is facing charges of bigamy and furnishing false information on a marriage certificate that stated he was still single despite being previously married.
According to Idowu Osungbure, the prosecutor for the case, these offences occurred in 2019 and are punishable under Sections 411, 115 of the Lagos State Criminal Laws as well as Section 370 of the Criminal Code Act.
Upon entering his plea of not guilty during his court hearing, Uzoma was granted bail with two sureties required to be paid in a sum of N1m.
The case has been adjourned until March 15th 2023.
