Liverpool Football Club’s owners, Fenway Sports Group, have no intention of sacking manager Jurgen Klopp despite the harsh reality of their current results.
Despite having not won a top-flight match this calendar year, the German’s reign remains unquestioned as they head into a daunting stretch of upcoming fixtures with Liverpool languishing in tenth place in the Premier League table.
Klopp has been at the helm of Liverpool since 2015 and has accumulated 254 wins, 84 draws and 73 defeats during his time there.
During his reign, he has garnered individual awards such as 2018 World’s Best Club Coach, 2019 Champions League victory, 2020 Premier League title and 2021 EFL Cup and FA Cup double.
Despite fervent relegation murmours echoing around Anfield after yet another loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers over the weekend, The Athletic is claiming that there is “no chance” of Klopp being relieved from his seat.
As their clash against Real Madrid looms closer on February 21st for the Champions League last sixteen fixture and next Monday’s Merseyside Derby against Everton, Klopp will be trusted to lead a “significant summer of change” regardless of what happens from now until then – unless he chooses to step down himself which is highly unlikely as he attempts to bring back former glories for Liverpool.
