Manchester United goalkeepers David De Gea and Dean Henderson are facing uncertain futures at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are poised to examine their goalkeeping options at the end of the campaign.

And while they want De Gea to stay on reduced wages, Atletico Madrid are keen on a reunion with their former No 1.

The Old Trafford side have seen the best of De Gea over the years, ever since he moved to Old Trafford as Edwin van der Sar’s replacement back in 2011.

But with football evolving in the time since, the 32-year-old’s stock isn’t as high as it once was.

United are keen to tie De Gea down to a new contract on reduced terms, with 90min saying Erik ten Hag has been impressed by the way the shot-stopper conducts himself.

Yet if he goes, then Diogo Costa and Yann Sommer are being eyed as possible replacements, reports say.

Costa recently signed a new Porto contract with a huge release clause but, despite that, the Portugal international remains a player of interest.

He didn’t cover himself in glory at the World Cup in Qatar recently, cutting a nervous figure prior to his side’s elimination at the hands of Morocco in the quarter-finals.

But United appear to be undeterred and Costa, as a goalkeeper cable of playing out from the back, would tick all the boxes when it comes to Ten Hag’s ideal goalkeeper.

As for Sommer, the Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper was linked with a move to Old Trafford earlier in the year.

A deal failed to materialise, with the Switzerland international reluctant to play second fiddle to De Gea should he move to Manchester.

But Sommer could be persuaded into joining United should De Gea go, with the veteran keen to be a No 1 as he enters the twilight years of his career.

The report adds that Henderson is still ‘intent’ on leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season, too.

The goalkeeper is spending the season on loan at Nottingham Forest, having grown tired of playing second fiddle to De Gea during their time at the club together.
