Market women in Oyo State have asked Princess Folasade Nurudeen to stop parading herself as Iyaloja-General in the state.

The market leaders under the auspices of the Conference of Iyalojas made this disclosure in a statement on Tuesday.

The position is the head of the market women in the state.

According to DAILY POST, the current Iyaloja-General of Oyo State, Alhaja Saratu Aduke, is still occupying the position.

It was, however, learnt that Nurudeen has been parading herself as leader of market women in the state, a move the conference of Iyalojas has kicked against.

The group, in the statement signed by its Secretary, Alhaja Rafata Wahaab, advised Nurudeen to desist from the act.

Wahaab, the Iyaloja of Ogbomosoland, alleged that Nurudeen’s act is capable of destabilising the existing unity among the traders.

Wahaab, while speaking further, explained that no one could emerge as the head of traders in the state without previously holding various positions in the association he or she belongs.

She said, “Princess Nurudeen has been warned severally to desist from parading herself as a member of traders in Oyo State.

“We are more than ready to checkmate the illegal activities of Princess Folasade Nurudeen, who was planted by insignificant rebellions among the traders to overturn the peace and harmony enjoyed by traders in Oyo State; otherwise they will keep misleading unsuspecting members of the public.

“For instance, the current Iyaloja-General of Oyo State, Alhaja Saratu Aduke, has held various positions in the past, from unit to local government, zonal and state, in actual facts she is till date the President of Agriculture Produce Sellers Association in Oyo State. She was among the first set of traders that started Bodija International Market some decades ago.”
