The National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) Renewal Group advised opposition parties to give up any plans of overturning President-elect Bola Tinubu’s win.
With a statement Saturday in Ado-Ekiti, the group described Tinubu’s election as the best thing to have recently happened for Nigeria.
Atilade Adeeyo, its National Leader, said Labour Party (LP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s attempts at upturning the result would be fruitless.
He further urged Peter Obi of LP and Atiku Abubakar of PDP, both runners-up at February 25th presidential election to accept defeat gracefully to let the nation move forward.
To support his point, Mr Adeeyo boasted about Tinubu’s popularity and praised his political structure spread across the six geo-political zones in Nigeria.
He went on to say that Tinubu is loved by many because he is a “builder of men rather than someone who pulls others down”.
He assured Nigerians that they’ll experience great governance under his leadership.
Lastly, Mr Adeeyo brought up the pain suffered by families of those killed post-annulment of the 1993 presidential election and urged Nigerians to let peace reign so they can be hopeful due to Tinubu’s renewal promise.
