Michael Ogundele, a 30-year-old Nigerian man, has been arrested on Friday for allegedly shooting Tobi Olabisi, his sister’s boyfriend.
The incident took place in Idi-Iroko in the Ipokia local government area of Ogun state.
According to the police report from Sunday, Alpha Akeem, a community leader of Ihunbo town who had warned Olabisi to end his relationship with Ogundele’s younger sister reported the incident to the police station where they found the injured victim.
After being interrogated by Detective Superintendent Ayo Akinsowon, Ogundele confessed to have warned Tobi but he refused to do so and consequently ended up being shot by him.
The injured victim was taken right away at General Hospital Idi-Iroko where his current health condition is responding well to treatment although it isn’t stated where on his body was he shot.
Commissioner of Police Lanre Bankole has requested further investigation and possible prosecution of Michael Ogundele transferring him to the Homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation Department.
