Professor Rufai Alkali, the National Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, has resigned from his position.
In a letter addressed to the National Secretary of the party, Alkali stated that he was stepping aside to allow fresh hands to take over and build on the successes achieved during his brief tenure.
He emphasized the need for structural and systemic changes and reorganization at all levels of the party to strengthen its base and enhance its competitive advantage.
Alkali expressed his commitment to the party and pledged to offer support to ensure its continued progress and advancement.
He extended his appreciation to the party’s National Leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and other members of the National Working Committee for their support during his time as chairman.
The letter was dated March 31, 2023, and copied to Kwankwaso, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Boniface Aniebonam, and Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Buba Galadima.
